Tropical rainforests which have been cleared have the surprising ability to regenerate themselves in only 20 years according to a study carried out over more than 2,200 plots of land in West Africa and South America decimated for cocoa or soya farming, published at the end of 2021 in the Science review. This natural reforestation could constitute one of the most effective methods in the fight against climate change.
