Roots & Shoots is an educational and environmental program started in 1991 by Jane Goodall, a British ethologist. Its main goal is to make humans, animals and the environment work together within the same project. For example, in New Zealand, young volunteers are replanting an area of the Orokonui Ecosanctuary for the Takahes, a bird species endemic to New Zealand. Pierre Quintard, President of the Jane Goodall Institute France association, tells us about the challenges of Roots & Shoots.
